Life is so good. Retiring from a 35 yr nursing career 2/1/07 and my first grandchild was born last month...the future will be maintaining my physical and emotional health (yoga, meditating, walking/hiking), babysitting, and traveling. We live on a ranch in Kelseyville so chores figure into that equation too. I have 2 kids; a son in Kelseyville (new papa) and a dtr in Santa Barbara studying at UCSB in materials chemistry. Life is good!

The last reunion I attended was the 7th in 1974, and things have really changed for all of  us  since then, I'm sure.  I  have sooooo much more confidence now than that first reunion.  So I'm anxious and excited to see everyone.  My career has been in education, as I see alot of my classmates have the same.  There will be much to talk about!   Looking forward to Saturday!!

Went to college at Western State College, Gunnison Colorado after
graduation from Arroyo High School, but a year later I knew I was being drafted, so I joined the U.S. Navy in January 1968 before they sent me my draft notice. Spent twenty years in the navy. Was on a Battleship in Viet Nam and rest in the fast attack submarines. Have visited over twelve countries and including various islands: Philippine Islands, Taiwan, Japan, Hong Kong, Singapore, Thailand, Italy, Spain, Virgin Islands, Bermuda, Canada, Mexico, and The Grand Caymans.  Being that I like to travel I have also visited 42 states in the U.S. and lived in four of those states including Hawaii.

Retired in November 1988.  Presently I am working for the Department of the Navy at Bangor Naval Submarine Base, Silverdale Washington and residing in Gig Harbor, Washington.

Got married in May 1969 to a gal from Sunset High School and had two girls  (born 1971 and 1973). Have one granddaughter and two grandsons 6, 9, 16 years old. Presently I am divorced.
Have volunteered as fast pitch softball coach, soccer referee, 4-H leader of four clubs (after my kids left the house), horse club vice-president, square dance club president, square dance council president, bird watcher, and help out in various flower/design clubs creating computer design advertising pamphlets.

I spent my first 3 years of high scholl at Arroyo...left for Drake in Marin Co. right after the last day of junior year. I often wonder what happened to all of my friends in the East Bay.?
After quite a bit of trouble, my life has been very full...great wife...great family...built a business, no longer small, here and on the Big Island.
I'm still in San Rafael...hope some of you drop me a line. Picture is with daughter..

From Nancy:
40 years?  How did they go so fast? I've been living in So Cal since graduating and haven't been back to San Lorenzo in eons.  Lots of changes, I imagine.  I went straight into college from Arroyo, graduated with a BA in Psychology from UCLA and went on to get my MA in Psych while working at Mattel Toys; was Marketing Research Director at Mattel for 13 years, got married during that time, had my son Griffin (now 21, married, with 2 daughters), then left for a job at World Vision, where I headed up the Child Sponsorship programs.  Did a lot of travelling--while at Mattel took a 6-week around-the-world tour, the highlight of which was two weeks on the Trans-Siberian Railroad going cross-country across the Soviet Union.  Travelled a lot for Mattel (Europe, Japan, Australia, New Zealand), but the travel I appreciated the most was what I did for World Vision, where I got to see the poorest areas of the world--India, Thailand, Zimbabwe, Malawi,
Ethiopia, Honduras, etc. and met some unforgetable people. My family grew during this time when my husband and I adopted 3 special-needs children (siblings) in 1995.....
which I ended up having to raise alone as he died a month after the adoption was finalized.  But it's been a great life, I wouldn't change any of it.  My youngest (Sean, 18) is graduating this year, my daughter Ashley (22) . is finishing her 4th year in the Navy and is currently deployed to South America, and son Rory (23) is in process of moving to Florida with friends.  I am currently working as a Social Worker for the state of California, providing assistance to people with disabilities.  Can't wait to hear the life stories of my classmates.  I am sure we have all taken very diverse paths.

From SUZANNE:

Hi everyone. I didn't attend the last reunion so this will be so weird seeing everyone again after 40 years. I've changed so most of you probably won't recognize me. I was married to Dennis Higbee (class of 65) and then we got divorced but we have 3 great sons ( one set of twins) and now I am a very proud grandmother of ten grandkids. Dennis died in 2000. I remarried but that didn't work out and I have been divorced since 1981. I went back to college after all these years and will get my BS in Business Management in June. L:ooking forward to seeing all of you again. Go Dons!!!!
